Religious Character Education Model in Homeschooling

Abstract

Character education is a crucial aspect in shaping individuals with integrity and quality. This study aims to explore the model of religious character education in homeschooling, specifically at Homeschooling HSPG Purwokerto. The research method used is qualitative, employing techniques such as observation, documentation, and interviews. The results reveal that the model of religious character education at Homeschooling HSPG Purwokerto is implemented through role modeling and habituation methods. Teachers, as facilitators of learning, play a central role in guiding students to develop good character. Learning materials are specifically designed to incorporate positive character values. Additionally, social interactions among students in homeschooling are utilized as a means to practice social and emotional skills. Families, as the primary environment for homeschooling, also play a role in ensuring the daily application of character education. However, several factors influence the implementation of religious character education for students at Homeschooling HSPG Purwokerto, including facilities and infrastructure, educators, students' families, the involvement between parents and the institution, and societal perceptions of homeschooling. By understanding these factors, it is hoped that effective solutions can be found to optimize the model of religious character education in homeschooling, thereby contributing positively to the comprehensive development of students' character.
