Abstract

To achieve optimal efficiency for solar PV systems, this paper proposes the Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) technique using Cuckoo Search Optimization (CSO). It is benchmarked against Perturb & Observer (P&O) Incremental Conductance (INC) and Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO). The suggested technique was modelled in MATLAB/Simulink under various opera ting conditions, such as changes in temperature, solar irradiance, and partial shading. The efficiency was increased by 0.71%, and the settling time was shortened by 77.1% using the suggested method. The study's conclusions showed that, for solar PV systems, CSO is a viable strategy, offering the highest efficiency and lowest power loss, and outperforming all other well-known algorithms examined in this study.
