Islamic boarding schools, or pesantren, serve as vital institutions in the landscape of Islamic education in Indonesia. These schools play a significant role in shaping not only the religious knowledge of their students but also their character and spiritual growth. Santri, or students of pesantren, are central to the identity and existence of these institutions, alongside the kyai, who act as religious leaders and educators. The learning system implemented in pesantren, particularly in traditional salaf pesantren, deeply influences the spiritual development and overall well-being of the santri. The religious education materials provided are comprehensive and foundational, aiming to equip students with the moral and spiritual guidance needed for their personal and societal lives. This study employed a descriptive qualitative method, focusing on the educational paradigm of Al-Falah Islamic Boarding School in Harjowinangun Barat. The school emphasizes the development of strong religious knowledge as a way to guide students in leading meaningful and purposeful lives. The findings show that pesantren education can successfully nurture students who are not only spiritually mature but also progressive in thought and behavior. These balanced qualities enable santri to become future leaders and valuable contributors to national development. Thus, pesantren continue to represent a beacon of hope in preparing a generation that upholds moral values and spiritual depth in an increasingly modern world.
