The Future of Diagnosis Tools in Precision Medicine
Abstract
In today's time, healthcare is tailored to each individual – not everyone needs to be given the same treatment. The biggest reason for this change is the rapid development of diagnostic tools. This poster explains the diagnostics of the future through 3 important things. Machine learning (AI) which helps in detecting diseases earlier by finding patterns in the data. Liquid biopsy, new method to detect markers of cancer disease early from body fluids (blood, etc.).Wearable devices, smartwatches, sensors that continuously track natural body function like heart rate, sleep, sugar. Together, the three creates a system that can be used to detect diseases early and at the right time. Progress is now so fast that AI systems like MIGHT may recognize cancer at an early stage. The rapid liquid test is already an example of the diagnostics of the future that it is. When genomics (genes), proteomics (proteins), and wearable signals combine, not just in the lab, at home or in small clinics. Data from wearable gadgets lets doctors know how a condition is changing over time. It is especially useful for chronic diseases (diabetes, heart disease, BP). In the future, the diagnosis will probably be something we will not even know.
