Abstract

This research was conducted to investigate the relationship between quality of work life (QWL) and work performance among IT professionals in a telecommunications company in Malaysia. A survey study was carried out to assess the perception of IT professionals on the relationship between quality of work life (QWL) and work performance. The sample of this study are 300 IT professionals. They were randomly chosen as respondent for this study. Researcher used Simple Random Sampling technique to select samples. The questionnaires was designed by adapting the eight dimensions of QWL. Pearson's correlation analysis was utilized to assess the correlations between quality of work life (QWL) and job performance. It was found that there was a significantly positive correlation between QWL and IT professionals’ work performance with r = .329 for 99% confidence, alpha = 0.01. Therefore, IT professionals demonstrate a good work performance when they have a high quality of work life (QWL).
