Abstract

The landscape of food biotechnology is currently shifting from basic processing toward the development of "nutraceuticals" products that provide targeted health benefits beyond standard nutrition. However, the traditional process of identifying bioactive compounds in natural sources is often slow and limited by manual lab testing. The current article explores that the Artificial Intelligence (AI) is acting as a major driver of innovation by speeding up the discovery and formulation of these functional foods. The machine learning algorithms are being used to scan vast biological databases to predict plant-derived molecules that can help to prevent chronic diseases. The role of AI was also explored in "Precision Nutrition," where data are used to design food products tailored to the metabolic needs of specific individuals. AI improves the stability and quality of these bioactive ingredients during the manufacturing process. By integrating AI, the food industry can move toward a more data-driven approach to human health. The study concludes by addressing the ethical and safety regulations required for AI-designed food products, ensuring they meet the high standards expected in modern biotechnology.
