Fulfillment of Early Childhood Welfare in The Family: Case Study of Single-Parent Families

Abstract

One factor that greatly influences children's growth and development is the fulfillment of children's rights and welfare. In fulfilling child welfare, it certainly requires the effort and cooperation of both parents, this is certainly a dilemma for single parents, where in fulfilling the welfare of children must be able to divide their roles. The purpose of this study is to examine and interpret how single parents meet the welfare of early childhood in the family. This type of research is a field research or field study, using a qualitative approach. This research was conducted in the Banyumas area with the research subjects of single parents (both fathers and single mothers) who had early childhood. In sampling, researchers use random sampling techniques. Data collection was carried out by interview, questionnaire, and documentation techniques. Data analysis is carried out by reducing data, presenting, verifying and drawing conclusions. Based on the results of interviews and questionnaires, several findings were found as a result of this study, the result is that not all welfare of children with single parents is fulfilled optimally. The fulfillment of the welfare of children with single parents is also supported by both internal and external factors, where these internal factors are more in the process of managing time, emotions, and work, while external factors are supported by assistance from the nuclear family.
