Somatic Auditory Visualization Intellectual Learning Model: Optimizing Poetry Writing Skills With The Help of Lyric Music

The low level of students' skills in writing poetry is due to the fact that learning activities are still teacher-centered. The lack of application of appropriate learning models is one of the causes. Students are hampered in expressing their creativity so they are hampered in writing their first verse. This research aims to improve poetry writing skills by applying the Somatic Auditory Visualization Intellectualy (SAVI) learning model assisted by music with lyrics. The research method used is Classroom Action Research which includes planning, implementing actions, observing and reflecting. Data collection techniques are carried out through interviews, tests, observations and documentation. Data analysis techniques use qualitative techniques and quantitative techniques. The research results show that using the SAVI model assisted by lyric music media can improve teachers' skills in managing learning, student activities and students' poetry writing skills. This can be seen from the achievement of success indicators, namely (1) teacher skills in managing learning in cycle I to cycle II increased from a percentage of 75% with the "Good" criterion to 91.66%% with the "very good" criterion, (2) student activity in cycle I to cycle II increased from a percentage of 70% with "good" criteria to 90% with "very good" criteria, (3) students' poetry writing skills in cycle I to cycle II also increased from 57.69% with "fair" criteria. ” to 92.30% with the criteria “very good”.
