Abstract

Education is the knowledge, skills and attitudes that a person must have. Education at a young age plays an important role in realizing character education. The problem of character formation in a person is still very much needed today. In this case the concept of character education in the book Ta'limul Muta'allim by Imam Az-Zarnuji and its relevance to the book Adabul 'Alim Wal Muta'allim by KH. Hasyim Asy'ari is considered very important in the formation of one's character education concept. The focus of research in this research is 1) The Concept of Character Education in the Book of Ta'limul Muta'allim by Imam Az-Zarnuji 2) The Relevance of the Concept of Character Education in the Book of Ta'lim Muta'allim by Imam Az-Zarnuji with the Book of Adabul 'Alim Wal M allim by KH. Hasyim Ash'ari. This type of research is library research and the research approach is qualitative. The data collection method used is documentation. The results of this study are the concept of character education in the book of Ta'limul Muta'allim by Imam Az-Zarnuji and its relevance to the book of Adabul 'Alim Wal Muta'allim by KH. Hasyim Asy'ari based on the data collected and the results of the analysis presented in the previous chapters show 1) the concept of character education in the book of Ta'limul Muta'allim by Imam Az-Zarnuji namely the intention to seek knowledge, teachers and friends, glorify knowledge and scholars, seriousness, continuity, and enthusiasm, learning methods, tawakkal, and wara' when learning 2) Relevance of the concept of character education in the book of Ta'limul Muta'allim by Imam Az-Zarnuji with the book of Adabul 'Alim Wal Muta'allim, namely sincerity of intention in seeking knowledge solely for the sake of Allah SWT and Wara' (protecting oneself from doubtful and unlawful things) during the study period.
