Keywords:
Green HRM, environmental sustainability, eco-friendly practicesAbstract
The growing emphasis on environmental sustainability has driven organizations to integrate eco-friendly practices into their operations. Green Human Resource Management (Green HRM) is a strategic approach that aligns HR policies with environmental goals, fostering a culture of sustainability within the workplace. This paper explores the implementation of Green HRM through practices such as sustainable recruitment, green training, performance evaluation, and eco-conscious rewards systems. The study highlights the dual benefits of Green HRM: reducing the organization’s environmental impact and enhancing employee engagement and organizational reputation. It also examines the critical role of leadership and organizational culture in embedding green values. Despite its potential, challenges such as resource constraints, lack of awareness, and resistance to change may impede Green HRM adoption. This research provides actionable recommendations to overcome these barriers, emphasizing leadership commitment, employee involvement, and the integration of sustainability into core HR functions. By adopting Green HRM practices, organizations can contribute to global environmental goals while achieving long-term business sustainability.
